Membership
The Following are eligible to obtain Library Membership.
1. All Postgraduate research scholars registered at the Institute.
2. All members of the academic staff of the Institute.
3. All members of the non-academic staff of the Institute who are in permanent service.
In addition, external researchers, both local and foreign, are allowed to refer the books inside the library.
The registered students should forward their students’ record book to the Library and obtain membership .The library books will be given in the following manner to the members.
Postgraduate Diploma Course 03
Master Degree 03
M .Phil Degree 04
Ph. .D Degree 07
RENEWAL OF LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP
In every new academic year the M. Phil and Ph.D. students should pay the library fees and renew their membership.
Rules & Regulations
FINE FOR OVERDUE BOOKS
All books borrowed from the library should be returned on the due date. A fine of Rupee one (Rs. 1/=) would be levied for each day overdue. The due should be paid to the library and a receipt obtained.
LOSS OF A BORROWED BOOK
Loss of a borrowed book should be immediately informed to the librarian. If the book is not found within two weeks the borrower is responsible for the loss of the particular book. He/She has either replace the lost book by providing a copy of it or pay the loss book (A photo copy will not be accepted as a replacement). Please note that there is a particular criterion to calculate the cost for the lost book. On this calculation it is possible that one may have to pay many times more than the original cost of the book.
RELEASE FROM LIBRARY RESPONSIBILITY
When one ends the studentship he/she has to return to the library all library books borrowed. If a reader has not returned the borrowed books to the library, the fine against the same will be charged from the refundable library fee. Then the library issues a certificate to the effect that one is free from all liability to the library. One has to produce this certificate to the Assistant Registrar (Students /Affairs). It is not possible to obtain their examination certificate or any other kind of certificate without fulfilling this requirement. Academic and non-academic staff of the Institute, it is not possible for them to withdraw their Employees’ Provident Fund without obtaining such a certificate from the library.
CONDITIONS TO BE OBSERVED WHEN USING THE LIBRARY
1. It is completely prohibited to bring in to the library books from outside, umbrellas, bags, food and drinks etc.
2. The readers are expected to maintain silence in the library.
3. A reader should not replace any book taken out from the shelf but leave them on the table close by.
4. Avoid hiding books in the shelves and the tearing off pages.
5. Whenever called for by the library staff the readers should produce their Institute Record book.
